Seth Hills‘ name was part of Tomorrowland‘s comeback lineup not once but twice. And during the festival’s second of three weekends in Boom, Seth Hills debuted a slew of unreleased music that would likely land on STMPD RCRDS in the coming months. Two of those IDs—his opening-turned-single “The Middle” and “Leaving” with Vluarr, who he shared the stage with on the third weekend—had already been uncovered, with Hills now going for the trifecta with “Losing Ground” alongside ALBA.
For Hills’ seventh consecutive STMPD RCRDS appearance in 2022, he set out to capture that exact feeling of a track that belonged on Tomorrowland’s mainstage. Hills and ALBA had already met once before this year on “Illumination“—also with Crime Zcene—and they knew their producer-vocalist synergy wasn’t meant to be a one-off. And on “Losing Ground,” Hills and ALBA up the ante, following through on what Hills originally envisioned through an effortless intertwining of future- and bass-house behind the latter’s earworm lyricism.
