As Lollapalooza 2022 ends, the festival is getting a huge governmental thumbs up. Mayor Lightfoot of Chicago and the event producers of Lollapalooza, C3, have reached an agreement to hold the festival in the city for another ten years. Lollapalooza has become an iconic Summer staple for the Windy City.

The contract stipulates that the maximum attendance for the festival may not exceed 115,000 persons. And C3 will be responsible for reporting and delivering local Chicago artists to the event; as well as hitting marks for hiring minority and woman-owned business subcontractors.

In a statement, Mayor Lightfoot declared:

“I am thrilled to come to this agreement that will ensure Lollapalooza is here to stay for the next decade; bringing music, culture, and joy to both residents and tourists for the years to come. I thank C3 Presents and our partners who made this agreement and famous festival possible.”

The Chicago Park District will receive a share of all C3 revenue streams. The percentage of share will range from 5% to 20%; dependent on earnings  Last year, Lollapalooza made 305.1 Million dollars for Chicago. That number goes up to over 2 Billion when you look as far back as 2010.
