“After this, the afterparty” was more than likely a line that had been uninterruptedly repeating in listeners’ mind these past few months after John Summit made a place for it in during his second of two nights at Los Angeles’ The Shrine. And for those that hadn’t immediately recalled KILL SCRIPT‘s original teaser from back in June, he helped jog everyone’s memory that he was the mind behind that ID following that set’s upload. To put the final touches on a decisively memorable calendar from one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2022, KILL SCRIPT has officially delivered his late-night anthem “AFTERPARTY” on Insomniac Records’ IN / ROTATION imprint.
Coming off his triple-sided GALACTIC RAVE EP from October, KILL SCRIPT knew he wanted to send off the year with what was arguably the single most in-demand cut from his ID bank. There’s little reason to question why “AFTERPARTY” yielded requests for its delivery immediately after its Twitter teaser, evolving into what he could only describe as the “first song of [his] where big artists have been playing it out.” And thankfully “AFTERPARTY” came just shy of making it onto Dancing Astronaut‘s most-anticipated IDs of 2022 list, with KILL SCRIPT continuing to refine the five-star tone of searing, industrial techno that initially warranted his name its own place in our forenamed class.
